2018 Ocean Isle Half Marathon

Well we did it!! It was chillier than forecasted originally. It was about 50*, dark, cloudy, and windy with about a 9-10mph wind blowing (felt that alot when crossing the causeway bridge twice). There were 2500 runners out there and a lot of excitement!! I originally wore a black 1/4 zip long sleeve shirt over my T-shirt and I knew better. I took it off while running between mile 6 and 7 as I felt like I was getting overheated. I handed it off to Lisa as I passed back by her (she had already finished her 5k and was waiting at the point where I had told her we’d be coming through between mile 7 and 8). Even with all that, my Janji shorts and Altra Torin shoes got me to a PR!!

I finished a full 15 minutes faster than my previous best which I had gotten in Petersburg, VA back in April. Glad I got to run again with my brother Chris. This race was well supported and we had a blast! Thank you @coastalrace for a great event! And this is one big medal!!😎⛄️🏃🏻🏃🏻🏃🏻

Oh and I actually remembered to stop my watch this time!😂 That’s usually an issue as I sometimes remember like ten minutes after while I’m eating a banana!
